The Successful candidates will need to undertake and possess:
- Diagnose, test, repair, and maintain electrical systems on emergency service vehicles.
- Install, wire, and commission electrical components including warning lights, sirens, communication systems, control panels, batteries, alternators, starter motors, and auxiliary electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications to carry out repairs and installations.
- Perform fault finding using diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify electrical and electronic system faults.
- Install and repair vehicle wiring harnesses, lighting circuits, charging systems, and other automotive electrical components.
- Carry out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and electrical inspections to ensure vehicle reliability and compliance.
- Test completed electrical systems to verify safe and correct operation in accordance with Australian standards and manufacturer requirements.
- Maintain accurate service records, job reports, and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and safe electrical work practices.
- Work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality electrical repairs and installations within required timeframes.
