The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Operating earthmoving and asphalting machinery on civil construction, road construction, and infrastructure projects.
- Experienced in operating CAT (Caterpillar) equipment, including excavators, loaders, graders, rollers, and other heavy plant machinery to perform excavation, grading, compaction, road preparation, and asphalt laying activities.
- Skilled in interpreting site plans and specifications, preparing road bases, spreading and compacting asphalt, and ensuring work is completed to required quality and safety standards.
- Conducts routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimise downtime.
- Works closely with supervisors and construction crews to coordinate project activities, maintain productivity, and meet project deadlines.
- Maintains accurate operational and maintenance records while adhering to workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and environmental regulations on civil construction sites.
- Main Task: Operation of CAT earthmoving and asphalting equipment for roadworks, civil construction, excavation, grading, compaction, and asphalt paving projects.
